![]() He stopped wearing it midway through the 2nd season (presumably because it was ruined in his fights against the first two members of Team Mashoutsukai). ![]() Towards the end of Season One, he is seen wearing a white martial arts outfit similar to his school uniform with gold trim and a pink sash tied around the left side of his waist and the folded sleeves on both of his sleeves and pants and the high-neck on his uniform are dark blue. When he visits his sick mother at the hospital, he was seen wearing a dark red corporate suit and his long shaggy red hair was styled in a low ponytail. His pink jacket with a gold trim and pink slacks from his school uniform has an intricate silver rose design. His live-action appearance depicts him with long shaggy red hair with a full-trimmed bangs in a hime-cut. While he often wears his pink school uniform matching pink slacks and a jacket with gold trim. As Shuichi, he is occasionally mistaken for a female because of his long hair and delicate features, which he detests. In the Two Shots chapter, he used to wear shorter hair (above his shoulders). In the manga, he has pink eyes and black hair. In the anime, his human form has bright green eyes and long vibrant deep red hair, with two long forelocks on either shoulder and the rest on his back. Even though his most common appearance is in his human form ( Minamino), he is referred to as Kurama, with the exception of his classmates such as Yuu Kaito, Maya Kitajima, his mom and his foster family. He can switch between both bodies almost at will after the Dark Tournament saga. A theme throughout the series is his acceptance as a human being & his balancing of the two personalities. It is at this point, and later through aging, that Kurama's psyche is in control. After he was wounded by being chased, he put his spirit into the newly born human baby, Shuichi Minamino. Yoko Kurama is the name of the original, silver-haired fox demon. The word "Yoko", despite being portrayed as a name in the dub, actually literally translates to "demon fox" in Japanese. Image Gallery Yoko Kurama ( 妖狐蔵馬, Yōko Kurama ?), also known as Shuichi Minamino ( 南野秀一, Minamino Shūichi ?) and Kurama the Yoko in the English Dub (translated as Southern Field and Excellence First, respectively) is one of the main protagonists in the anime/manga series of YuYu Hakusho. Botan also possesses healing powers, to the extent that she could stop or pause demonic transformations.English: John Burgmeier (Shuichi and Yoko) Botan tends to use human weapons, or something heavy around, to fight while in the human world. In one scene during the episode "Setting the Trap," Botan was planning to use the Concentration Ring to blow up walls, which suggests she might have spirit powers like Yusuke, but they are undisclosed. In her human form, Botan can use any of Yusuke's detective items. ![]() She has no spirit powers like Yusuke's Rei Gun or Kuwabara's Spirit Sword, but she possesses heightened spirit awareness and spiritual energy (as can be determined by her ability to use the detective tools, which require spirit energy in order to work.) Typically, when Botan fights, she tends to favor blunt instruments like her oar, a metal bat, or, if all else fails, her fists. Botan works hard, cares deeply for others, and tries not to let her friends know when she's down.īotan is not a fighter like those around her, but she has fought several times, often to help Keiko Yukimura to get her out of trouble. Although her initial purpose is to help Yusuke cross over to the Spirit World, or Reikai, Botan eventually becomes a sort of guardian angel to Yusuke, helping him in his efforts to return to his body, and when Yusuke becomes a Spirit Detective, being the liaison between Yusuke and friends, and Koenma in Reikai. Botan is cheerful, sometimes sarcastic, and a completely atypical version of Death (something the main character Yusuke Urameshi points out almost immediately after meeting her). Botan (ぼたん)Botan is the guide for the dead across the Sanzu River (the River Styx), Botan is hardly typical of what one would expect from the shinigami, or death god clad in a bright pink kimono, with her blue hair in a ponytail.
